About Lapu-Lapu Festival

The Lapu-Lapu Festival, meant to be a vibrant celebration of Filipino Canadian culture, honors the Indigenous hero Lapu-Lapu, who famously resisted Spanish colonization in the 1500s. What should have been a night of music, food, and community spirit has now been overshadowed by an unimaginable tragedy.

Authorities are urging witnesses and anyone with video footage to come forward as they piece together what led to this devastating event.

Our hearts go out to all the families and individuals affected during what should have been a night of celebration.
